Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World System Requirements

PC buyers should read this before clicking pre-purchase on Steam app 3681610. Console buyers can skim the bottom. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World launches December 3, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and the Microsoft Store. The demo uses the same platforms.

Steam’s listing is the source. Both columns require a 64-bit processor and operating system, DirectX 12, and 40 GB of storage.

Windows 11 as a minimum is the line people miss. Windows 10 boxes are not in the table. If Steam later adds a 10 path, this page will change. Until then, do not pre-purchase on a 10-only machine and hope.

Denuvo and other PC flags

Steam lists Denuvo Anti-tamper and a third-party EULA. That is a known friction point for some PC buyers. It is not optional in the listing. Family Sharing, Steam Cloud, and Steam Achievements are also flagged. Online PvP, online co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer are listed; they are not described as edition-locked.

Square Enix Asia’s trailer description mentioned a Friday, December 4 Steam unlock in at least one region. Most worldwide copy still says December 3. Check your own storefront countdown. Deluxe early access is planned for December 1, 2026 at 9:00am PST — see editions.

Consoles, briefly

If the PC table looks expensive, the game is the same campaign on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and Switch. Hands-on coverage from Gamescom and PAX West did not publish a detailed Switch-vs-PS5 spec comparison. Buy the platform you will actually finish a 500-monster box on. Physical Standard and Collector SKUs have been listed for Switch, Switch 2, and PS5, not for Steam.

The demo is the real benchmark. Eight monsters transfer only on the same platform. Do not demo on Switch and buy on Steam unless you like scouting twice.

Interface and subtitles: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean. Full audio: English and Japanese. This wiki localizes English, French, German, and Spanish. We skip Simplified Chinese and Russian by policy; Italian, Japanese, and Korean are not mirrored here even though Steam ships them.

After you confirm specs

• Play the demo.
• Read Getting Started.
• Decide Deluxe versus Standard on the editions page.
• Keep synthesis recipes for the kitchen, not for GPU shopping.

If your GPU is below the 6 GB VRAM note, this is not a “it might be fine” situation Square Enix left ambiguous. The listing says 6 GB or above on minimum. Pre-purchase on Steam still has until January 5, 2027 for the Adventure Starter Set, but a GPU upgrade is not a digital bonus you can claim later.
